The nature of article marketing means that your work can end up in just about anybody else's work without you knowing it. Many clients use CopyScape and other programs to protect their interests but there is little available to protect yours. Taking care of what you write and for who is an important writing tip to remember.
Charge more for more
One of the biggest errors that writers make is to undervalue their work. Article marketing by its nature is the act of making as much for your work as you can. You are being asked to write an article for a reason and people are reading it for a reason. If the work is specified to be used on the internet or some public forum you should expect that it is going to be used somewhere else, in some form. This information becomes worth less after it becomes published so you cannot charge all that much. But, if the work is specified for a particular group of readers it is more valuable to that group. Be sure to place a value that is appropriate and try to keep some level or rights.
Flooding the market
A good way to get started in article marketing in this same vein is to write many articles and flood every lower tier article marketing site you can find. The article doesn't need to be fancy but rather something that many people can use. It is a sample freebie that can be about anything that might get people to buy something generic. If it works for somebody, you may get some more work you can charge more for.
