Article marketing used to work almost magically. One author could post 20 articles and suddenly they got unstoppable streams of traffic from everywhere. Things changed since then, now marketing with articles can be hard especially if you don't know what to do.
Now that the results don't come automatically, strategy becomes more and more important than ever. Every article marketer should now have a sound strategy before going out posting their articles everywhere.
Here are 3 mistakes article marketers could make (so you can avoid them):
1. Giving up too soon
You will never know when you're going to reach critical mass. One article may get 200 views per month yet another gets around 2000 views. The accumulation of those views and clicks are what make article marketing successful.
If you give up too soon, you may be just too close to success than you think. Once you do what's right, there's no reason you can't be successful - in terms of getting many qualified traffic and profits.
2. Doing it wrong
Article marketing is not only about writing and getting the word out. First you must have the keywords right. The information contained within the article have to be useful and engaging too. Your offer in the resource box must be relevant and interesting.
On your site, you must design the landing page cleanly and clearly. Make the visitors do what you want them to do and don't confuse them. If you want them to subscribe to your e-newsletter, focus on that single thing.
3. Lousy articles
A good article doesn't have to be perfect. As long as it is useful to the readers, they are good enough. In fact, I make it my own guideline to have just one idea per article. Focus on explaining one idea, solving one problem, or tell them how to do one thing.
Lousy articles are useless. Perhaps they are just remix of various articles that are run through article re-writers. You'll know it a mile away.
Article marketing is a long-term process and strategy. There is no way that people could get rich by not providing something that the end-users want, unless they are scammers It applies to both online and brick-and-mortar business.
