1. Try to understand the other person’s viewpoint.

2. Tune into the mood of the occasion.

3. Guide the conversation by asking open-ended questions.

4. Do not be silent.

5. Do no monopolize the conversation.

6. Speak in a normal voice and use simple language.

7. Talk about ways of spending one’s leisure time.

8. Do not get into people’s personal business.

9. Talk about ideas rather than people.

10. Select entertaining rather than argumentative subjects.

You may use these ten commandments to conversational charm while attending networking event for your business or career. If you do not know how to start a conversation at the networking event, it is always good to start by seeking the answer to questions relating to your business or career.
