Vacationing in Tuscany is a dream come true for many travellers. Tuscany is a popular tourist destination in central Italy and attracts visitors to its historic cities, stunning countryside and vineyards.

People come to Tuscany for so many reasons. Gourmets and wine buffs come to enjoy the simple yet excellent gastronomy and wine. Many descend on Tuscany to explore its extraordinary countryside or in search of fine art. Walkers and hikers enjoy Tuscany’s mountain paths, summer holidaymakers the sea coast and islands and cyclists the rolling hills.

A superb mixture of luxury, nature and warmth of service, Borgo Santo Pietro is a luxury 5-star hotel in Tuscany located in the Valle Serena, near the village of Palazzetto, within the district of Chiusdino. It is about 30 minutes from Siena and approximately an hour from Florence. In 2001 Danish Italophile Claus Thottrup and his wife Jeanette purchased 13th-century Borgo Santo Pietro as a ruined derelict villa filled with bats and turned it into a remarkably smart destination.

The house has been gorgeously restored, keeping the most charming original features and the essence of the original building intact, while updating everything else gracefully. Borgo Santo Pietro is now a Tuscan idyll, a real 5 star hotel Tuscany. Jeanette Thottrup searched antique markets all over Italy to create the illusion of a Tuscan mansion house lived in by generations of globetrotters. Hotel Borgo Santo Pietro opened in 2008. This is a child-friendly hotel and nannies and babysitters can be arranged in advance. The swimming pool is fed by natural spring water, with ergonomic wicker sun loungers at its edge. There are also tennis, badminton and basketball courts with free equipment as well as a trampoline embedded in the lawn. You can also use mountain bikes and helmets for free. Free Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the hotel and DVDs can be borrowed from reception.

The produce is organic, most of it coming from Borgo Santo Pietro’s own pesticide-free vegetable and herb gardens. Spring brings green landscapes and amazing wild flowers, while autumn is perfect for cozying up by open fires in your room and taking romantic walks through the countryside.

Borgo Santo Pietro is one of the best 5 star hotel Tuscany . Are your bags packed yet?
