Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean, just south of India. You will definitely find it to be an amazingly varied country with everything you could want from a destination. This is a land of striking islands and contains 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The beautiful coast and beaches and the plenty of activities are here that Sri Lanka has to offer to entice the visitors.

It is so lush and green and hilly as far as the eye could see! There are several locations in Sri Lanka which make everyone fall in love. Some of these are as follows: People are just lovely Here, the people are genuinely warm, welcoming and really nice. They are the friendliest people in the world.

You will definitely make them great friends. You would get wonderful experience getting a glimpse of local life in the country. You will enjoy heart warming evening filled with genuine hospitality. Amazing food The food here is out of the world! Everywhere you go in the country, you’ll find delicious food everywhere. Coconut features heavily in Sri Lankan food! Spices play an important part in Sri Lankan cooking and in Ayurveda medicine, the traditional form of medicine on the island. It has been known throughout history for the quality of the spices that originate on these shores.

It's no surprise that the food here is also known for the variety of spices used in them. And there's so much regional and ethnic variety. The landscape is WOW-inducing beautiful As gorgeous as the beaches are and is considered sacred to Buddhists who take pilgrimages here.

A spectacular once in a lifetime journey, but maybe not worth it off season as it can be overcast with fog and clouds at the top. The highlands of the island offer stunning views of the mountainous terrain, taking in the tea plantations, gushing waterfalls and infinite green. The train journeys are epic There are several train routes to take all over Sri Lanka, so it is better way to enjoy all that gorgeous scenery than from the open window of a train – health and safety nightmare really, but one of my best ever travel experiences.

Best wildlife watching in the world Sri Lanka has an abundance of national parks teeming with animals and it’s one of the best places in the world to see elephants and leopards in the wild. Within minutes of entering the park you would spot a leopard. So much culture If you love to explore, then you will adore Sri Lanka.

The Cultural Triangle describes the area between Kandy and the ancient cities. There are beautiful Hindu and Buddhist temples all over the country. The most famous is the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy where one of Buddha’s teeth is kept. It is brought out for viewing every August. Social Welfare Sri Lanka is a welfare state. The average life expectancy of a Sri Lankan grew from 68.1 years in 1980 to 75.1 in 2012. The Infant Mortality Rate dropped here from 29 to 8 (per 1000 live births) in that same period.
