A Grand Canyon helicopter is a fun way to spend a weekend vacation. Since Labor Day is nearly here, it's the perfect time to start planning a weekend in Vegas and a canyon tour.

The great thing about taking an air tour from Las Vegas, is that you can choose from landing and air only tours. Since the tours all fly along the same route on the way to the canyon, you'll get to see the impressive Hoover Dam and Lake Mead on both types of tours. Of course you will end up at the highlight of the journey, the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon itself. While the air-only tours circle the canyon and head back to Vegas, the landing tours stop at the canyon so you can get out and explore the area.

Landing Tours From Vegas

You can choose from a variety of air tours, but you should consider booking the deluxe landing tour that lifts off from the Vegas Strip. Deluxe tours offer extra in that you will receive a limousine shuttle to and from your hotel, and you will fly in the state-of-the-art EcoStar 130 helicopter. The best landing tour is the one that lands at the bottom of the canyon, right next to the Colorado River.

On this landing tour you will be able to toast the occasion with a champagne picnic, and you could even upgrade your ticket to include a picturesque river boat ride.

South Rim Tours

If you're closer to Arizona, or even if you just want to experience the more remote areas of the canyon, then you could try an air tour from Tusayan. South Rim tours lift off from Tusayan, Arizona and you can drive yourself there from any point in Arizona, or you can buy a Vegas tour that includes a flight that gets you there in about an hour.

You get to choose from the least expensive half hour air tour of the South Rim, or the longer tour that lasts nearly an hour, which is highly recommended. On the longer tour, you get to see the land between the South and North Rims as well as the area of the park all the way to the eastern boundary. You'll see many amazing and beautiful sights on this tour.

Although you can't land inside the canyon, you can take an exhilarating 4x4 ground tour from Arizona. You can choose a package that includes the 30 minute air tour, with a two and a half hour Jeep tour. Seeing the canyon from the ground is a thrilling experience too, especially when you combine it with an air tour.

Deluxe Helicopters

For the optimum viewing experience on any air tour you choose, be sure to look for the deluxe option. These helicopters have more room inside, they have superior seating compared to older helicopters, and most importantly they have a huge panoramic viewing window that wraps 180 degrees around the front of the helicopter. They're also quiet inside and are some of the smoothest helicopters in the air. If you can find seats on a deluxe tour, you should definitely book them.

Helicopter Tours On Labor Day

The Labor Day weekend, from September 5-7, is the last three day weekend of the year. That means the canyon will be busy and tours will fill up fast. If you want to take a tour on Labor Day, then book as early as you can. Book now so you don't forget, but try not to put if off past August 24. Buying your tour early is the sure way to get seats for your tour. Book online to confirm you seats and make a significant saving in booking fees, too.

Celebrate Labor Day At The Canyon

Grand Canyon helicopters offer the best sights of the Grand Canyon National Park. And since you can upgrade your flight to include a landing excursion, you can customize the adventure of a lifetime you're sure to enjoy.

Just remember to book your seats early and buy your tour online. The Grand Canyon is a vast and beautiful national treasure. You'll appreciate its grandeur much more if you see it from a helicopter tour you book out of Tusayan or Las Vegas.
