With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, you'll want to dazzle your sweetheart. A trip on one of the Grand Canyon helicopters is the perfect choice. Just be sure to book your flight very soon.
Starting in Las Vegas, you'll begin flying towards the West Rim. This will take about 45 minutes in the air. Here, you can choose from an air-only tour or a landing tour. Both will fly over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead as they head to the National Park.
The air tours that are flying only are the perfect choice for those short on time. This is the cheapest way of doing this, making it budget friendly. However, a landing tour will give you a better overall experience. So, I do recommend that.
My favorite of the landing tours is the one that includes a Champagne picnic at the base. If you are feeling extra adventurous, consider the one the package with the Colorado River boat ride. No matter which package you choose, you'll have an amazing trip.
Deluxe Flight Packages
With Valentine's Day being a special day, it is strongly recommended you take a deluxe flight from the Las Vegas Strip. This includes free hotel pick up in a luxurious limousine that will include a flight over The Strip when you head back from the Canyon.
Deluxe air tours are also incredible because they include an EcoStar 130 helicopter flight. These are the best choice for aircraft. They feature 180 degree windshields, stadium seating with large, bucket seats and an aerodynamic design that will ensure a smoother flight.
When you arrive at the South Rim, you can select a 30 minute or 50 minute flight. The shorter of these flights is good, but for a romantic day like Valentine's Day, it might not be enough. My recommendation would be to take the 50 minute flight. This will let you see 75% of the park, including the Dragoon Corridor. That is both the widest and deepest section of the park. Making it the perfect experience for you and your beloved.
A second option is the 30 minute helicopter ride with Jeep combo. After you take the helicopter over the Canyon, you'll embark on a 3 hour Jeep tour inside of the National Park. This is one of the best tours you will find, as it gives views from the ground and the air. So you end up having a unique experience on this trip.
It is important to remember that February is one of the coldest months at the Grand Canyon. Make sure you review the weather forecast and wear appropriate attire. The West Rim will be similar to Vegas, but the South Rim is 7,000 feet and may have snow. So if you are headed from Sedona or Phoenix, you'll want to bundle up.
Hopefully, this article has give you some insight into the helicopter tours available for Valentine's Day Weekend (It is Saturday February 14). Plan now to have the ultimate date experience with your loved one. My recommendation is the Champagne picnic at the base of the West Rim. If you are headed to the South Rim, it will be a toss up between the 30 minute Grand Canyon helicopter tours with a Jeep tour or the 50 minute air only tours.
