Bagging a Bargain Shopping in Sihanoukville

Southeast Asia is renowned as a bargain hunter’s paradise, and Cambodia’s beautiful seaside town of Sihanoukville is certainly no exception to this. Sihanoukville has some wonderful markets and stores located along the beach and also in the central part of town where visitors and locals can enjoy browsing the wonderful displays and then pick up something wonderful at rock bottom prices. One of the best things about Sihanoukville that every bargain hunter is sure to love, is that there are so many cheap Sihanoukville hotels that are located within a short distance of the town’s shopping areas. Not only will this give you prime access to the bargains, but it will also make sure you have lots of extra cash to enjoy the plethora of bargains on offer.

Traditional Cambodian Clothing

Cambodian still proudly wear their traditional dress, and many souvenir and boutique stores in Sihanoukville produce some amazing traditional garments for tourists and visitors to the town. Whilst the major markets offer these products, the best place to find traditional Cambodian clothing is in one of the NGO-run boutique stores. Not only is the quality excellent, but you will be supporting a worthy cause.

Khmer Artisans
Khmer Artisans is one of the finest boutique stores in Sihanoukville. It offers customers some of the most beautiful silk and cotton clothes available in Cambodia, all at excellent prices. The Cambodian silk that they use is very fine, and Khmer Artisans have started to develop a following amongst locals. They are very welcoming of visitors, and English is spoken at the shop, making it very easy to find what you want and enjoy the bargains on offer here.

Rajana opened its shop in the middle of Sihanoukville and hasn’t looked back since. The NGO-run shop is well-known throughout both the local community and expat community in Sihanoukville for its offering of fine clothes. Its specialty is the traditional Cambodian headscarf. Prices here are fixed, so please don’t bargain, especially as all of the proceeds go back into the economic development projects which this store supports.

Bags and Accessories

M’Lop Tapang
M’Lop Tapang is one of Sihanoukville’s most famous stores. Visitors to Sihanoukville’s Serendipity Beach are highly recommended to take the time to have a look at M’Lop Tapang, and find a purse or a bag, which have been made in the local traditional style. Prices here are very reasonable, and with its prime beachside location, there really isn’t any reason not to drop in and pick up one of the best bargains in Sihanoukville.

Jewellery and gemstones

Cambodia is famous for its gemstones and jewellery, which features these precious stones. Many markets and shops throughout Sihanoukville offer these gemstones, but visitors must be very careful that what they are buying is the real thing. Ask any of the local expat community to find out the best place to go for gemstones and jewellery.

Hanuman’s Boutique
Hanaman’s Boutique is a reliable jewellery and gemstone store where visitors can be sure that what they are purchasing is authentic pieces of jewellery and gemstones. This beautiful boutique store is situated next to Serendipity Beach, and is known for their expertise in hand-made traditional Khmer jewellery. The prices are also very good, and visitors are sure to find some great bargains on stunning ornaments and jewellery.


Central Market
Sihanoukville is blessed with some beautiful beaches, and as a result. It is of little surprise to know that many of the markets offer some excellent items of swimwear and beachwear at some amazing prices. The best place to go for all your beachwear needs is Central Market. Central Market is one of the largest open-air markets in Sihanoukville. It is open every day, and has some excellent deals on men’s and women’s beach fashion. However, remember that this is a market, and therefore, if you want the bargain you are going to have to haggle!
