Golfing in Palm Cove

Visitors: 162

There are many things to do and so many sites to see in the lovely northeastern beach village of Palm Cove. Hotels in Palm Cove line the main beach where there is also a swimming enclosure and a fantastic shopping centre full of pretty boutiques and more simple stores. Palm Cove is the perfect place to go for a lovely Sunday walk and have a nice picnic out or a lazy brunch under the cool palm trees. The town is close to a number of attractions in the Cairns area such as the Cairns Tropical Zoo and the Skyrail. It is also one of the few paces in the world where you can head off on a boating adventure to visit the Great Barrier Reef. Scuba, snorkel, or submerge yourself underwater in a protected boat's glass casing to see some of the world’s most talked about ocean life.

It is virtually impossible to visit Palm Cove without enjoying yourself - nor is it easy to visit the city without swinging a golf club or two. With such a beautiful beach and coast atmosphere it is no surprise that visitors from all over Australia and from around the world come to Palm Cove to play its green lawns at one of the local golf clubs.

Whether you are visiting with friends or family, Palm Cove Golf and Yacht Club has something for everyone. The club often has special deals and promotions, particularly during the summer months when it is open to everyone. For just 20 Australian dollars you and your golfing mates can rent a cart and enjoy playing the luxurious 18-hole course. The Palm Cove Golf and Yacht Club is also home to the Palm Cove Sports Grill where you can enjoy televised sports and happy hour drinks as well as a delicious meal having finished your round.

Also attached to the course are a number of rental houses and serviced apartments which can be stayed in by visitors to Palm Cove. The golf course is just a short distance from the beach so you can have the best of both worlds. Staying close to the pretty natural surroundings and being able to wake up for a round of golf each morning is a true luxury. The houses are particularly suitable for families and the club provides a safe environment for children to play and enjoy. Youngsters are able to run and play outside without the worries of any nearby traffic.

The houses come fully equipped with kitchens and all the tools that you might need to make it a home away from home. During the summer months the houses fill up to capacity quite quickly so it is recommended that you book pretty far in advance if you think you might like to stay on-site.

The Palm Cove Golf and Yacht club also caters specifically to local boating enthusiasts with monthly meetings for the local boat owners. You can meet with others that have a vessel of some kind and discuss maintenance, local laws and more as well as trade tips on how to get the most out of sailing in the local area. The wind in Palm Cove is particularly good for sailing and windsurfing. It is also possible to take your own boat to visit the famed Great Barrier Reef though there is a lot of red tape to wade through to do so. It sounds like a burden but the Australian government has the best interest of the coral preservation in mind with these standards. For more information, you can contact their website and book your trip online today. There are also bridge and games nights at the local club to make your experience all the more fun.
