Nice Things to Do

Visitors: 179

Located along the stunning sunny strip of France’s southern Riviera, the town of Nice is one of the country’s most important tourist destinations. Welcoming millions of tourists every year, the city stands proud of its rich tourist culture. It is one of the most remarkable cities in the country, and is one place not to be missed.

The Nice International Airport is a large air hub for the southern regions of France. It is the easiest and most efficient way into the city, as routes from all over the world are found. However, the train, like most other parts of Europe, is another excellent choice for travellers.

Nice hotels are diverse in size, style and price. Some are located close to the beach, while others are centered in the heart of town. Regardless, visitors will not be disappointed wherever they stay.

When it comes to Nice, there are so many different ways to keep busy. This fascinating French Riviera town is the site of many interesting museums. The best part about these sites is the fact that they aren’t too far away from each other, and entrance is free. This means it is easy to take a tour of the museums in a day or two. A selection of the museums worth visiting include the Museum Matisse, Museum of Asian Art and the marvelous Museum of Contemporary Art. It is possible to find tours of the museums in the city of Nice.

If museums don’t give enough cultural bite to a holiday in Nice, then there are several other options for tourists. If visitors enjoy the food, then why not take some time to learn how to cook like professional locals. There are plenty of excellent cooking schools found in restaurants of Nice. However, if cooking doesn’t really tickle the fancy, then try learning the local French dialect in a language school. Regardless of how many lessons tourists want to take, or how much experience potential learners have, there is a wonderful course for everyone.

Even though the city of Nice is a beautiful settlement to visit, one of the best parts of the city is its close proximity to other stunning sites along the French Riviera. Cannes, Saint Tropez, and Eze are just some of the places that can be visited within a half-day or full-day trip from Nice.

When it comes to exciting things to do in Nice, tourists can’t go past scuba diving. The season is only open during a small window throughout the year, however, there are plenty of shops to find scuba diving equipment, and numerous services that offer scuba diving lessons and trips. The beaches of Nice are pebbly, but the beautiful blue waters are to die for. If visitors are not into scuba diving, then try swimming at one of the beaches. Even though there are more sandy beaches located around the city of Nice, sun-bathers can still enjoy a relaxing rest on the beach if the pebbles are smoothed out properly.

There are a lot of markets and shopping areas in the city. The flower, fish and food markets at Cours Saleya are probably the most well known shopping locations in Nice. In addition to the market places, there is a Galeria Lafayette department store located in the city. This enables visitors to find plenty of trendy fashion stores and other retail outlets.

When the day ends in Nice, this doesn’t mean the fun has to end too. As a matter of fact, some tourists travel to the city mainly for its nightlife. However, it must be made aware that the wine restaurants in the town are quite expensive. But, pubs and clubs are found around the town.
