American Airlines: The Fleet And The Destinations!

American Airlines is a major airline in the aviation sector and there are a lot of factors that are responsible for making it what it is today. Some of these factors are due to external influences while some are internal. A range components have come together to make the airline what it is today. The fleet of American Airlines is made up of an impressive range of aircraft. The Boeing 777-200s account for 47 aircraft while orders have been placed for a total of 7 Boeing 777-300ERs with deliveries beginning in 2012. Aircraft that classify as Boeing 767s include 58 Boeing 767-300s and 15 Boeing 767-200s. The airline has a total of 106 Boeing 757s in its fleet, all of which are undergoing extensive upgrades. Some of them are being retrofitted for international use while others for use within the United States.

The Boeing 737-800s made up about 76 of the total aircraft in the American Airlines fleet in 2009 with 130 more to be delivered over a period of 4 years. Boeing MD-80s, ATR-Super ATRs, Bombardier CRJ-700s, Embraer ERJ-135s, 140s, and 145s are also part of the massive fleet that the airline owns. The airline also has firm plans in place to make the necessary changes to its existing aircraft as well as regularly buy new ones with the latest technologies as and when they are introduced into the market. The destinations that these state of the art aircraft fly to are another long list that American Airlines can boast of. Apart from its own flight routes, the airline also has code share agreements with many other airlines that further increase the number of destinations it can offer to its customers. American Airlines flies to a total of 171 domestic and 108 international airports, and these numbers do not even include the destinations that are handled by its subsidiaries of American Eagle Airlines, American Connection, and Executive Airlines.

In the United States, the airline flies to a number of destinations in the territories of Wyoming, West Virginia, Washington D. C. , Washington, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio, North Carolina, New York, New Mexico, New Jersey, Nevada, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maryland, Louisiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, Delaware, Colorado, Connecticut, California, Arkansas, Arizona, Alaska, and Alabama. All across the globe the airline flies to a number of countries, and some of them even have multiple destinations. With a network that is amongst the most widespread in the world, the airline also has code share agreements with various partner airlines so that its customers may always find the destination they are looking for. With the best fleet and a really long list of destinations, it is no wonder that an American Airlines flight is the first choice for many!
