Las Vegas: A Lodging Guide

Visitors: 177

When you’re in Las Vegas there is an over-abundance of accommodation so that you can be sure that you will be able to find a place to stay. The type of accommodation that you stay in and the amount you pay for your lodging will be determined by the time of year when you’re taking a holiday in the area. There is a major concentration of hotels on the Strip and within a few blocks of the Strip so a large portion of visitors find lodging within a few minutes walk of the centre of activity in Las Vegas.

The large amount of the accommodation in Las Vegas will be found within hotels in the area even though the hotels are constantly changing with the newest hotel typically being the most popular. For many people the rates that the different hotels charge during peak times can be way above their budget so many people make alternative arrangements. Typically the lodging is divided into three areas, which typically determine what level of price the hotel will charge; although in every area has exceptions to the rule of thumb.

The most famous and popular is the Strip which houses the newest and typically the most expensive hotels. The one that is garnering the most publicity at the moment is the Wynn for a variety of different reasons including the amount of money that was spent on building it. For those people who want to experience the best lodging, but don’t have the budget, there are many specials run by different hotels during low season. You can consult different lodging guides to find out which hotels are offering special rates at the time you are looking to visit Las Vegas. You can expect to enjoy pristine rooms equipped with a variety of different facilities to enhance your stay and give you the most luxurious experience possible.

Just behind the Strip hotels are those lodgings that are classified as off-strip which often have accommodation that is very good value for money. The quality of hotels is good, but since the views is not quite as spectacular as the hotels on Strip, the rates can often be lower. Since they are close to the Strip without being on it they are well suited for people who wish to have easy access to the strip without being on it. These hotels can also offer discounted rates during off peak times to encourage visitors to visit Las Vegas at those previously unprofitable times. These hotels normally have a range of facilities available, but often don’t have the exceptionally luxurious touches that the on-strip hotels can have.

The last main area is downtown that houses lodgings which are mostly the older hotels and hotels of slightly lower quality. These hotels will typically have the lowest rates and are perfect for those people who are visiting the area without much time to plan and organise accommodation since they will often have rooms available at the last minute. They are far more suited to budget travellers than business executives since they offer the basic necessities, but very little of the luxuries that are typically associated with the most popular hotels in Las Vegas.
