THREE exclusive new stores are set to open in the city's most glamorous shopping centre next month.

Distinctive fashion brands B&R will come together in a unit in the Victoria Quarter, after choosing the city dubbed the “Knightsbridge of the north" for their first concept store as a partnership.

They will be joined by Carat International, a jewellery store with celebrity fans said to include Lisa Snowden and Cat Deeley, and a new flagship store for fellow jeweller Phillip Stoner, in addition makeup brush to its shop in The Light.

Carat will replace Sacred Hearts lingerie shop and Phillip Stoner will take Autumn & May's unit, both on County Arcade.

B&R, which stands for Bolongaro Trevor & Religion, will take one of the last remaining empty units on the recently refurbished King Edward Street, next to celebrity stylist Nicky Clarke, whose salon opened earlier this year.

Bolongaro Trevor is a new collaboration by the designers behind fashion label All Saints, which also has a unit in the Victoria Quarter.

And from November King Edward Street will also count top British designer Paul Smith as one of its tenants, when he takes over a unit which previously housed the Crombie clothing shop.

He is understood to be taking a hands-on approach to the new shop which will house “an eclectic mix; clothes, objects, gifts and collectibles".

He said: “Leeds is a special place to me because all my first tailoring was made there by a factory called Atkinson Rhodes, which sadly no longer exists.

"Leeds as a city was so much the heart of the textile and manufacturing industry, I am pleased to have a shop there, especially in the historic Victoria Quarter. "

A spokesman for the centre said a number of units would be changing next year and upmarket bath and beauty brand Molton Brown would be expanding its store into the adjoining unit.

The Victoria Quarter is home to a range of top-end brands, from Agent Provocateur to LK Bennett, Space NK and Louis Vuitton.

And there have been bags of new openings this year, including shirtmaker Hawes & Curtis and outdoor specialist The North Face.

The new additions mean even more options for guests at the fourth annual Shopping Affair on October 11 replica breitling watches when each of the 75 stores will be open from 6pm til late, with special deals and exclusive offers. There will also be the chance to win a weekend for two in Venice.
