Gems are Treasures

Gems are interesting things. Yes, they surely are. They send gushes of pleasure and excitement to the very depths inside any wife or woman for that matter, while at the same time they the brow of a husband wet with sweat. Are you a husband? Then you surely know what I am speaking. However, times have changed and now both men and women crave equally for gems for now they are in fashion and make even a pauper seem stylish.

Needless to say that there are many types of gems, many and when I say many, I mean it. All of us know that gems are basically rocks, precious rocks. ‘What makes them so special?’ you may ask. Undoubtedly the western world is attracted only by their beauty and elegance, and their market value off course. However, you would be surprised to know that the most important of all gems have been first recognized by the sages of ancient India. In fact they have even identified each month with a particular gemstone some of them being ruby, topaz, garnet, amethyst…

Do you know that the most important gems like the colored ones known to mankind are present in the sedimentary deposits like the gravel sands? Other important gemstones like the marble are present in the metamorphic rocks. It is amazing that most mines from which gems are collected are smaller than even diamond mines! It is for this reason that the gems have a high demand in the market due to their acute shortage.

Besides the use of gems for decorative purposes gems find an important use in astrology as claimed by many astrologists. The former relates with the use of gems for making rings, making attractive show pieces and rare gem collections which can be displayed in any party or packed room. Contrary to this the latter claims responsibility for changing one’s destiny and has an objective to free a person from his previous karma. However it must be kept in mind that if gems can make your life, they can also destroy it if the correct one isn’t used.

I would like to quote an example of a great saint who saved his disciple from extreme misery by the use of such a stone. Saint Yukteshwar gave his disciple a stone which reduced his misery (stomach ache) from a period of 6months to 24days! This disciple later became the great Saint Paramhansa Yogananda. Possibly many such episodes are related with gems as well.

Those who are serious about buying gems whether for astrological or fashionable purposes much do a thorough market research for finding the one which bests suits them, especially if you are doing it for astrological purposes. (which isn’t recommended any more for there is a high chance of getting a fake or evil omen as well!). The top brands in this business are Gili, Asmi and Nakshatra amongst the Hindu line.

Though some people may not mind spending even thousands of dollars for a single gem, for those who consider value for money the sole criteria, gems are available for some great low prices.

I am sure that most people already have gems, not one but many. If you don’t have them, why not go and buy a few (not astrological ones though unless you have a true saint recommending it), even if you have a few, it doesn’t harm to increase your collection, does it? Happy Shopping!
