It’s here…the festival season is upon us, and there’s something for everybody – whatever your age – going on at stages across the country.

Here at Gear-Zone we’ve also got your needs covered, from our cost-cutting festival packs at to something exclusively for the ladies, the incredible SheWee which will bring a sigh of relief to any female festival-goer who has endured the toe-curling queue for the ladies…

There is far too much going on to mention it all, but here are some of the biggest – and best – highlights of the 2011 festival season.

Isle of Wight Festival

10/11/12 June

All the iconic bands have featured at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival since its inauguration in August 1968…and it’s still going strong today.

This year’s line-up includes Pulp, Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, Foo Fighters, Mike and the Mechanics, Big Country, Pixie Lott and the Manic Street Preachers.

Donington Park Festival

10/11/12 June

With a nod to the musical past, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy and Def Leppard will be appearing at the ‘spiritual home of rock’ amid of host of other great names including Twisted Sister, Linkin Park, The Darkness, System of a Down and Bullet For My Valentine.

22 – 26 June

They don’t get much bigger than this…the mother of all festivals at Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

Don McLean, U2, Coldplay, Beyonce, Morrissey, the legendary Paul Simon and BB King, Primal Scream, Mumford and Sons, Kool and the Gang…. and that’s just the very tip of the iceberg. Not to mention that 70s phenomenon from Wimbledon Common, the Wombles!

The Big Chill from August 4 – 7 in Herefordshire headlines Kanye West, The Chemical Brothers, Robert Plant and The Band of Joy, Jessie J, Metronomy, Neneh Cherry, and Chipmunk, while the world-renowned Reading Festival and its sister festival at Leeds on August Bank Holiday weekend showcases Pulp, The Strokes, Muse, My Chemical Romance and Jane’s Addiction to mention just a handful, plus there’s a touch of Madness too.

The V Festival’s twin line-up at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park near Birmingham on August 20 and 21 includes the Arctic Monkeys, Duran Duran, Eminem, Rihanna, Plan B, Dizee Rascal, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers and Primal Scream.

As always there’s a whole host of smaller festivals on the horizon, but they still manage to have some of the biggest names – past and present – in their line-ups.

Twenty-one years of the London Feis Festival is celebrated on June 18 and 19 at Finsbury Park, with none other than Bob Dylan, supported by Van Morrison, Christy Moore, The Cranberries and Thin Lizzy.

Also in London, Hard Rock Calling from June 24 – 26 in Hyde Park has some familiar faces, with Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Adam Ant, Ray Davies and Stevie Nicks, alongside The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Mike and the Mechanics and Lighthouse Family.
