Radley Bags Guide to Avoiding Fake Bags Auctions Sites

Visitors: 847

Every Radley bag is sold with a Radley glossy, cardboard tag label on the outside. The fake Radley label will have a “red dog" at the bottom. The genuine Radley does not have this.

The same applies to Radley purses and other smaller items. If the label has a red Radley dog on it then it is a fake.

The Radley Scottie dog tag on a genuine bag will also be attached in such a way that it can be easily removed. On a fake Radley bag the dog tag is often permanently attached to the bag.

Radley bags or purses that have the Radley dog logo appliqued to the front of the bag should NOT have the word “Radley" embossed on the dog. The only time you should see “Radley" embossed on the dog is on the “dog swing tag" hanging from the outside of the bag.

Radley bags, purses and other leather products are sold in a protective dustbag with drawstring. Ask the seller if their item comes with this.

Most Radley bags also come with an “after care" kit containing a leather cleaner. Once again, ask the seller if this is included.

Don't forget you are the buyer ! If you would like to see more photos of the product then you can always ask the seller. The more reluctant they are to assist you then the more likely something fishy is going on.

Also, don't forget normal etiquette. On sites such as Ebay, you can view the seller's feedback rating (which is kind of like an endorsement score from previous buyers who have bought from the seller). The higher the feedback rating then the more likelihood that the seller is a well established presence on Ebay. Be sure to check out the seller's most recent feedback as it is possible for a seller with a high feedback rating to develop a streak of bad feedback-this should get the alarm bells ringing.

Buying from a seller with a low feedback score doesn't necessarily mean there is anything suspect about the auction. Sellers have to start somewhere. Just try to balance everything up.

I'm the webmaster of http://www.designerleatherbags.co.uk a website that specializes in everything Radley.

I'll be honest I had never heard of Radley before until my girlfriend told me she had bought a new bag and then told me how much she paid. . . THEN I was VERY VERY interested to know why the bag cost so much !!

I have to say that the bag she bought drew plenty of admirers whenever she took the bag out and I soon came to realize that these bags are a lot more popular than I had thought. The reason for me creating this website is that I realized that only a limited number of stores actually stock Radley bags and accessories and I wanted top create a one stop shop for both used and new products.
