Although Nursing staff, midwives and other medical personnel have worn uniforms from the beginning, surgeons and doctors never used protective sterile garments until the 20th century. They performed all surgical procedures in their everyday clothing. With the passage of time, surgeons started wearing simple aprons in order to avoid blood stains from the surgical procedure. The purpose was to protect the doctor, rather than to protect the patient from infections. The Apron is the most notorious piece of medical apparel. This apron used by surgeons was never sterilized, hence transferring infections from one patient to the next. Hence the apron fell out of practice once medicine became a more professional art as there was a massive risk of infections and diseases to both the patient and the surgeon. A standard was set to wear surgical green uniforms which are in practice even today.

Since wearing traditional green scrubs made it difficult to distinguish between staff of different departments in a hospital, non-surgical scrubs were available for other healthcare and medical staff. Today all medical personnel wear some sorts of medical scrubs whether it is in the hospital, clinics, doctor's office and even dental and veterinary offices. Their apparel differs in regard to their spot. Personnel in hospitals and clinics usually wear simple and colored tops and pants while those in veterinary clinics and pediatrician clinics wear scrubs with cartoon characters printed on the tops. It helps keep a cheerful environment.

The surgical uniforms/ medical scrubs are normally leased by hospitals due to sterility and cleanliness issues. However, if one wants to buy his own set of nursing scrubs, it is easily available online on stores at reasonable rates. Discount Scrub tops and pants, as well as other medical apparel are available on almost any online shopping website. They are available in different colors, sizes and styles.

People prefer buying medical scrubs online since it saves them the hassle of travelling all the way to the store just to buy a pair of clothing. There are enormous numbers of stores where you can buy your clothes from which makes a person confused. It is time consuming to travel from store to store in today's busy routine. While online you can surf through the online stores in less than half the time. It is also very cost effective and saves money that you would otherwise spend on petrol/gas.

Online stores help you compare prices between different stores quickly and accurately. You don’t have to go around asking the price for each item. You will never be able to find the variety of apparel at stores as compared to that you can find online.

The best part is online promotions and clearance sale deals. While shopping at stores one can miss out on some great discount offers. However online, you can shop at low rates as compared to stores and most probably won't miss out on any great discounted deals. For instance if you are a resident of the United States of America, Cheap Scrub Sets offers you a great deal of nursing scrubs in a variety of colors, styles and sizes at reasonable and discounted rates.
