High performers have all the ingredients necessary to succeed. They have high IQ, well educated and have hidden talents because of which they are successful. These are the qualities which makes them lead the pack. In reality it is not so. What really makes these people perform at their peak? Let's list their habits and find out.
1) Do what you can do best: High performers select a career, job or a business they care about. There are no rewards when you do things you care less about. High performers choose work they truly prefer. They choose internal satisfaction not external rewards like a promotion, a raise in the salary, etc. High performers ultimately end up having both because they enjoy what they do.
2) Enjoy your leisure time: High performers are hard working people who not only work at office but they also bring work home and labor over it until bedtime. But in reality it is not the case. They like to spend time at home with their family. For them work is not everything. High performers are people who leave work behind at office, relax during free time and spend time at home.
3) Visualize and rehearse each task: Before encountering any difficult or a challenging situation, high performers usually visualize and run through their further actions mentally. 4) Results matter, not perfection: Some hard working professional and businessmen are so obsessed with perfection that they turn out little work. When high performers take an important project of their lives, they don't wait until it is perfect. They may fail for the first time, but they make sure to start. If they fail, they learn from their mistakes and do better next time.
5) Be willing to take risks: High performers do not stay in a comfort zone. In other words, they take chances. They are not immobilized by fear. They are able to take risks because they carefully consider exactly how they would adjust to the situation if they fail.
6) Don't underestimate your potential: Self limiting is the biggest obstacle to a high level performance. High performers do not self limit themselves nor will they allow anyone to. Very often we set our individual limits far below than what we can actually achieve.
Physiology proved that man cannot run a mile in less than four minutes. However, Roger Bannister in 1954 broke the four minute barrier and the rest is history. Within two years ten other athletes followed suit. High performers tend to ignore such artificial barriers and hence achieve great results.
7) Compete with yourself: High performers concentrate on bettering their own performance rather than competing with others. Concentrating on your competitors abilities is self defeating.
Above all, high performers are not loners, but they are team players. They know that groups can solve certain complicated problems better than individual. Such are the skills of high performers. If you want to make more of your talents and to live up to your full potential -learn to use them.
