What are you doing? Simple question isn't it? Can you answer it? What are you doing? How do you spend your days? What did you accomplish today? What did you accomplish in the last week? What did you accomplish in the last month? What did you accomplish in the last year?
Let's switch gears a bit. What will you accomplish tomorrow? What will you accomplish in the next week? What will you accomplish in the next month? What will you accomplish in the next year? What will you accomplish in your lifetime? Again, I'll ask you, what are you doing?
I subscribe to the theory that to be successful you must help others. If you aren't helping others, what are you doing? If you aren't making a positive impact in the world, what are you doing? I'm not suggesting that you have to do something on a global scale, though I think it is great if you are thinking that big. You might answer the questions with, “I'm raising my kids to be the best people they can be, " or “I'm being a loyal devoted spouse and bringing happiness into the lives of all I interact with. "
I'm not as concerned with WHAT you are doing as I am with the fact that you ARE doing something, and that you KNOW what you are doing. So answer the question, what are you doing?
If you don't like the answer, it is time to change. I suggest that you figure out what it is that you WANT to be doing, and then devise a plan to make it happen. This might take a little time, but what else would you be doing? What's your purpose? What's your mission? What's your passion? How can you make the world a better place? The world needs people that take action and make things happen. What impact will you make on other people's lives? How will you do it? Why not start today? After all, what are you doing?
