Exercising is a wonderful way to feel great and relieve stress. When you move, your body releases pent up tension and endorphins are released that give us a natural “high" feeling. It is recommended that if you are looking to relieve stress that you do exercises that promote relaxation.
The best exercises I have found for this are Tai Chi and Yoga. Both forms of movement are intended to bring you into a clear state of mind where you are feeling your life energy or chi. Both exercises leave you feeling relaxed, centered, and rejuvenated. Neither exercise requires any equipment (unless you like using a yoga mat), and so are very cost efficient. You don't even need to leave the comfort of your own home to do these simple movements. Unlike aerobics or jogging which are fast movements, Tai chi and yoga focus on fluidity and slow movement. Don't be deceived by the slow movement though because it adds quite the challenge! You will certainly be getting your workout as well as your daily dose of relaxation. Do this exercise: relieve stress effectively and quickly.
Along with exercise to relieve stress, it is always good to have other relaxation techniques to help you when you are not always able to exercise. The easiest way to slow down, focus and relax is to breath. Breathe deep and slowly and simply focus on this for as long as possible. You will begin to feel lighter and happier. Life won't seem so serious! This technique is perfect for whether you are at the office, or on the bus. It reminds you to bring your attention back to the present moment and focus on what is most important, which is your life force or your breathing.
