12 Compelling Reasons to Go! - Part IV

10. Bring heaven to earth! Jesus taught us to pray the will, ways and Word of heaven down into the earth. When you show up as a minister on foreign soil, you are an ambassador of heaven with inherent powers invested in you from above to bring divine change. When you open your mouth, expect the Holy Spirit to inspire you and cause your words to carry weight. Expect your words to penetrate, impregnate and transform.

When the apostle Peter spoke the Word of God, the Holy Spirit began falling on the hearers (Acts 10:44). Expect the same when you speak. When Jesus spoke hearts were burned (Luke 24:32). The same Jesus will speak through you and touch others too! Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

The Spirit of life in Christ will empower, impregnate, inspire and establish you. As you speak, divine life will flow through (John 6:63). As you see people’s faces light up with the glory of God, frowns turn into smiles and lethargic pew warmers get propelled into their divine purpose you too will get excited.

Wherever I have spoken the word of life, faith has been mightily imparted into the hearts of the people. God in turn has simultaneously responded from on high confirming His Word with signs following (Mark 16:20). The manifestations of the Holy Spirit attest to the validity of the God inspired Word through you (Hebrews 2:4).

This is when heaven opens up over you and comes down to kiss the earth. When you are in agreement with heaven, you can expect earthly interaction and involvement by God on your behalf.

As you reach up with childlike faith to touch heaven, God above will pour out His Spirit of love to change earth.

This certainly has been my continual experience wherever I go as I minister in churches of all denominations throughout the world. Where there has been strife, reconciliation has come imparting newness of life. Where there has been division and discord, believers have been unified and brought together in one accord. Where there has been unforgiveness and pain, the Holy Spirit has healed hearts in Jesus Name.

The Word and the Spirit of God have an amazing interactive way of working together to mend hurting hearts within, remove sin and cause God’s people to always win. The victories that the utterance of the Word and the moving of the Spirit bring will make even the hardest heart happily sing.

Worry not in what goes on throughout the earth each and every day. Because if you’ll reach up and touch heaven, you can change the earth and with God create new births.

11. Be transformed. As you give, you shall live. As you impart life to others, you yourself will be blessed.

My first book A State of Emergency, written pre-911, was read by a former drug dealer in southern California. He later told me, “That book changed my life!” Change and transformation is the ultimate goal. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing people change for the better and experience lasting transformation.

Jesus knew what transformation was all about. He took Peter, James and John to the mountain-top where He was transfigured before their eyes (Matthew 17:1-2). Our Lord sanctified Himself knowing that it would ultimately not only benefit Himself but also His disciples who followed Him (John 17:19). Upon renewing your own mind, you shall more readily be able to help renew the minds of others. Once you have fought to gain your own mental ground, you shall be mentally tough enough to wrestle with others and challenge their limiting beliefs.

It is not easy to go from a worldly mindset into a kingdom viewpoint concerning life. Developing yourself within to experience a paradigm shift about yourself, your capabilities and your destiny all take continual effort. Once you fully grasp what Jesus accomplished for you on the cross, you will arise with wholehearted faith to conquer. It is then you believe you are who the Bible says you are, that you can do what the Bible says you can do, and that you can have what the Bible says you can have.

It is rare even in most churches to find a believer in Christ who dares to do the impossible, get out of the boat and cross the line. It seems people culturally tend toward conformity. God in heaven is looking to and fro throughout the earth for radicals and nonconformists who will take Him at His Word. It is with fiery hearts that God will turn the world upside down and shake it with His power. If you simply believe and arise, this will be your finest hour!

When I was in Jakarta, Indonesia praying with some missionaries residing there I heard the Holy Spirit tell me to get on the radio and preach the gospel. When I told the missionaries who had been living and ministering in Jakarta for some time this, they thought it impossible. The church with whom they were working had so demoralized and dwarfed them in God that they felt extremely limited and incapable. Yet these were mighty young ministers with whom I was well trained in Bible school. However their faith was rapidly diminished in the presence of fearful unbelieving believers.

Crab basket Christians never let you excel and surpass anything they have done lest you convict them for their lack of accomplishment. Like crabs in a basket, such people pull you back down. This is not the mentality or heart of Christ. Nevertheless in religious circles many succumb to it.

As for me, I did not tolerate such unbelief not for a moment. Though I was a guest at the missionaries’ house (which by the way was well locked up and surrounded by walls with sharp glass on top), I refused to be bound therein.

They didn’t think getting on the radio was possible. They saw Indonesia as a Muslim owned land. It is nothing of the sort. As in all other countries, money talks. Mine certainly did there when I waved it in the face of the radio station owner. He happily took it and gave me over an hour of radio time.

By the end of that very night I was on live at Sport FM speaking to the people of Indonesia. When you have faith in God nothing is impossible. If you simply believe God at His Word and put feet to your faith you can move heaven and earth.

I got on TV in the remotest parts of Mongolia and showed the crucifixion of Christ via the Jesus film. I had no translator to help me pray a prayer of repentance and salvation with viewers at home, so I paid a Muslim University student to be my translator. I made sure she said every word I told her to say. I even bought a full-page ad in the local newspaper telling people how to live their dreams, teaching them to look to God the Creator to help them.

The simple truth is when you believe you receive. You get what you expect in life. As Jesus said, “According to your faith, be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29). By faith you can overcome and create your world. By faith you can access God, touch heaven and change earth!

12. It’s fun and feels good. The Creator of heaven and earth is not far from anyone of us. We simply need to feel for and go after Him (Acts 17:27). Feeling after God comes as you search your own heart and allow the Holy Spirit to move you from within.

Having the Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead flow through you is invigorating. “If the Spirit of God that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).

Jesus said the living water of the Holy Spirit would flow to and through our belly. This means that Christ lives within His people via the inward dwelling Holy Spirit. Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

The secret to accessing the fullness of the blessing of Christ is to connect with the Holy Spirit, your heavenly telephone operator. Jesus and God the Father are in heaven, whereas the Holy Spirit has been sent to earth to live in us and guide us into our personal inheritance.

Once you learn to go beyond your mere mental faculties of reasoning, analyzing and scrutinizing then you can tap into the realm of the supernatural. Many in the body of Christ are experiencing spiritual paralysis by reason of excessive analysis.

God is not a brain. God is a Spirit. When you live in the Spirit you become acquainted with the anointing that causes you to supernaturally know things. “We have an unction from the Holy One and know all things” (1 John 2:20).

Most people function primarily out of their mental processes. The children of the God however are to be led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14). This means you first trust in the Lord with your heart and don’t lean entirely upon your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

As you learn to trust your inner impressions, inclinations and stirrings you will more readily give place to the work of the Spirit in your life. The Holy Spirit can be felt deep within. This is where the expression “a gut feeling” comes from. The Spirit of the Lord moves down deep in you, even to the depths of your belly as Jesus said.

When I was ministering in Jamaica and praying for the sick, the Spirit of the Lord prompted me to inquire as to a man’s marriage. He had come up to the altar seeking prayer for healing, when suddenly the Holy Spirit redirected me to probe concerning his wife. I couldn’t shake the leading of the Lord after hearing God say “Wife” within my spirit numerous times. I therefore paused and asked the man, “Do you have a wife?” Immediately the whole congregation began to laugh.

I not knowing what was going on told the man, “If you have a wife and she’s here, have her come up to the front now. ” It was then his wife came forward from another section of the church (they had not been sitting together) and I prayed for the restoration of their marriage.

We are limited in our understanding, but God above is all knowing. We therefore need to connect with the Holy Spirit and trust His inner promptings as He endeavors to guide us into the will of the Lord.

As you follow and flow with the Holy Spirit you will see rapid results. All you need to do is present yourself to God as a clean vessel through whom the Spirit can flow. Like a hose that carries water to flowers, you too will water many and be refreshed yourself when you yield to the Holy Spirit.

That service in Jamaica was outstanding and divine. People erupted in praise unto God dancing and shouting triumphantly. Even the doubting skeptical accountant who had come with us to the service soon was liberated by the display of God’s awesome power. He went from being a top-heavy accountant to becoming a happy hearted wild man celebrating God unashamedly, as he jumped across the pews and broke a sweat dancing with the rest of us too.

Truly it is most amazing what our God can do! Know assuredly He also wants to use you! If you will simply believe, trust and obey, God will mightily flow through you today!
