I used to worry. A lot. A WHOLE LOT. I worried about money mostly - will I be able to pay the rent, how do I get more money, where can I find money to pay my overdraft?
Then I discovered something interesting. If I focused on the making money part instead of on the worry, it became a lot easier.
In fact it got so much easier that I am now financially free!
I did not quite understand what I was really doing until I started doing some personal development work. I cannot remember who I heard say: “What you focus on is what you get" but it suddenly started making a lot of sense to me!
I also focus on happiness, and that's what I get. Not all the time of course, but I am generally happy, and when there are some small hitches, that's exactly what they are: small hitches, small challenges that I can deal with. . . Because I believe I can deal with anything that life sends me. What do YOU believe?
I have a good friend who believes she cannot get a break. And guess what? It seems that's exactly what she gets a lot of the time. Some people may say that she has the worst luck you have ever heard of. . . Occasionally, when she calls me about a complaint or another, I ask her what she has been focusing on. . . Usually, she's been focused on the challenge, which is perfectly understandable and human. And she is slowly finding out that focusing on the good stuff makes a big difference.
So here is my question for today. What do YOU focus on?
Do you focus on financial freedom, happiness and love, or do you focus on worry, jealousy or anger? How is that working for you?
Let me know!
