Ever starting something new with a lot of interest and then gradually lost it as you shifted your concentration to other things? It's possibly because either your initial enthusiasm wasn't strong enough or you weren't constantly motivated.

Both these skills are necessary to succeed in our endeavors. Therefore, it's important that we maintain a combination of both these skills, known as personal power, with us at all times.

Read on to find out five ways to keep yourself personal power high.

Interact with people of your compatibility
Make sure you have at least one friend who thinks like you. He should also be a person who can instill positive thinking and confidence in you. He needn't be of the same field, just the same mindset. Interacting with him will automatically help you get over your misery and start thinking productively.

Otherwise, you can enroll yourself into a group which follows your line of thinking. There are associations which hold many meetings for their members to stay on track of their goals. The internet is a splendid to find such groups easily.

Collect a bunch of inspiring footage
Form a collection of movies which have inspired you in the past, defining sporting moments which made your heart swell with pride, memories of events which instilled confidence in you, etc. Watch this when you're in need of motivation.

Read motivational books
Auto-biographies and biographies of famous personalities serve as great reads when you're feeling glum. Pick the books of people whom you think highly of.

Reading about their troubles and what they underwent before they tasted success might be just the thing you need to boost your morale.

Keep reminding yourself about your goals
Your goals should always be on your mind. Don't lose track of them. Have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. It doesn't matter if it's small or big, long-term or short-term. It's got to be in your head.

You could keep visual reminders of your goals by writing them down on your pin-up board or keeping pictures of it. You can also talk to a friend about your goals.

If your goals are sensible and practical, then you'll know that you can and will achieve them. This will raise your self-confidence and you can do your job with more passion.

Inspire yourself by reading quotes
These witty one-liners could make a dreadful day cheery if they're taken in the right sense of mind. Quotations are mostly from people who have overcome their sufferings.

So, you know that it's coming from a positive personality. It mainly ensures that you don't stray from the path of achieving your goals. It might also inspire you to come up with something new.

There you go. You've got five simple tips to get you through your lean patches. Remember the adage “When winter comes, spring isn't far behind. " There's a silver lining in every cloud, after all.
