Do you find yourself always making excuses; when you are you late on your project? what about your unmet goals? did you forget something? have you screwed up again? No matter what it could be, desist from making unnecessary excuses for yourself. Excuses does a lot of harm on your reputation and occupies quality emotional space with negativity. Instead of cooking a creative or captivating lie or trying to wiggle your way by making excuses, just accept your fault and move on. You don't need to be defensive on every issue, if you are wrong, you are wrong. So leave the excuses and use your time on rewarding things. “Spend your thought time planning your next successful venture. Positive thinking becomes a helpful habit. Excuses fuel failure. "- Susan M. Heath field

When you realise what you lose by pushing blames and avoiding your responsibility. You would wish you never did. We often don't realise how unreliable we sound, when we cant take a firm position, make sound decision or put our feet down. Don't ever be afraid to make mistakes, or hide by sitting on the fence. When you don't voice your opinion, contribute to your team, impact on your family or take a stand when you should, you end up tagged as “someone who travels behind". Which simply means, your opinion don't count. The cost you pay, for not taking responsibility are enormous- you lose respect, your right to be heard, people's trust and above all your self-esteem(which would drop over time). "Ninety-nine percent of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses. " - George Washington Carver

Some time you would need to learn to take the bull by the horn and make things happen. You are no fool for taking charge when everyone seem to be passing the bulk. Am not saying you should accept blames that are not yours. But, if you need to move forward life, you must learn to captain your ship no matter the storm. Though you are taking responsibility for the blame for a good reason you have to as well clearly state you reason for doing so to who are concerned. Again take responsibility not the blame (except it have some thing to do with the blame). You can't change the world but, you can change how you react to issues. “I must do something" always solves more problems than “Something must be done. " - Author Unknown

Another time to take responsibility is when you seek for freedom. The price to pay when you want to seen as a grown-up(adult)is the responsibilities of being a grown-up. That is what you get when you demand freedom or liberty too. They are good to have no doubt, let's assume you want to be the leader of a group- this is a welcome idea as long has you know that you are the one to blame for anything that goes wrong. If you choose to take the lonely dark road alone? Remember you might be alone when you are faced with any problem. So, expect the phrase " I told you so!" All dreams comes with their own kind of tasks and responsibilities. It is left to you to weigh the gain by the pain and decide if it is what you really want to do. It makes no sense to wear the crown, if you don't want to be king. The sound of success is when you can say words like- “The game is my life. It demands loyalty and responsibility, and it gives me back fulfillment and peace. Michael Jordan

Don't blame your past for present issues or situation . Especially if they were permanent in nature. For example when you grow up into “a short man". You can blame your parent for not thinking about you and how you would hate to being short but, that wont increase your height an inch. Though, it would increase something else that is your “inferiority complex". There are also temporary displeasures that we have to take charge and bag its responsibility. Like excess fat, falling hair, lack of quality education, and so on. You and only you can make things right! It might take time, effort and persistence . “Man must cease attributing his problems to his environment, and learn again to exercise his will - his personal responsibility. " - Albert Schweitzer

Have you noticed that the next generation is worse than yours? Interestingly, its the same story if you ask those in the generation before yours. One thing that also constant is that the younger generation seeks to correct the wrong of the older one. No matter how you look at it, you have a role to play. If all you can do in your entire life is save one life, please do. Don't wait to see a little boy or girl standing and staring at you, before you know you are been watched. . They don't need to come to you for formal mentor-ship, they see you. You can make the heal the world in your own little way by making it your responsibility to do things right. Hundreds of legend would pass without being famous but they would influence hundreds from generations to come. "Whether or not you have children yourself, you are a parent to the next generation. If we can only stop thinking of children as individual property and think of them as the next generation, then we can realize we all have a role to play. "- Charlotte Davis Kasl
