As it is commonly joked about, the first step in recovering from a drug addiction is to admit that you have a problem. Once you admit that you have a problem and ask for help you then allow yourself the opportunity to recover from your addiction.
Once you have reached this point you are ready to look for a detox.
Locating a detox program is easier than you think. There are numerous resources right in front of you. You can use the internet, contact a local hospital, or call a local twelve step program and all of these places should be able to refer you to a detox.
Once you have gotten in touch with one of these places you will need to have them help you decide what kind of detox you will need and what type of detox you will be able to go too. If you are an opiate or benzo addict you may well need a medical detox. If you do not have insurance or money you will need to find an indigent detox.
Once you have completed a detox program and have regained some physical strength, you will need to locate a drug treatment center.
Drug treatment Center
Drug treatment centers are all over the place now-a-days. Some drug treatment centers are as simple as a sober living home and other drug treatment centers are very expensive with intensive programs that must be completed. Which one you will go to is really determined by what you can afford. Again, if you do not have money or insurance you will need to locate an indigent drug treatment center or sober living home.
Any of the above listed resources (Hospitals or twelve step program members) will be able to help you locate the right place for you.
