You Must Put Into Practice What You Have Learned

A few weeks back my wife informed me that she had booked some tickets to a drama for us and a few friends. I was surprised because normally she would check with me first before booking the tickets as I have my preferences when it comes to stage dramas. I love dramas that make me think, and of course laugh. But dramas with thick emotions are a definite no-no for me.

When I started to inquire what was the drama about and when it is being held and so on, she just smiled. As I was wondering what was going on, she told me that one of our participants has achieved his goal to be one of the lead actors in a drama! Immediately, Kumaresan's name popped up in my mind. Almost simultaneously my wife mentioned his name.

Kumaresan is truly an interesting character. He was in my class about two years ago. Although busy with his daily activities, which included his real passion for dancing, he would do his best to make it for my workshops. If he had missed any of them, he would replace them somehow. In fact, I was quite impressed that he repeatedly attended some of the workshops.

Kumaresan was one participant who understood the philosophy behind the training program that I conducted. He had good knowledge of the theory; however, he wished things moved much faster in his life, especially when it came to achieving his goals.

We had a chat about it a few months back. I told him frankly that all the knowledge in the world would not help him if he did not apply them for good. I emphasized to him that it was not wrong to have more than one goal, but he needed to understand that to achieve them he must learn to focus on ONE GOAL AT A TIME with all his energy on it. Focusing meant keeping the mind constantly on the goal, firmly focused thoughts, and taking all the necessary efforts in achieving the goal.

Last night, I was truly impressed watching him portraying his role in the drama. It is a drama produced and directed by the talented S. T. Bala. Kumaresan and his co-actors really made us all think and laugh at the same time. It was enlightening to watch many great talents to come together on a stage. To those who made the drama a success, my hats off to you all.
