Certificate of divorce is a document that is prepared by the court and contains information about the terms and conditions of divorce. Although the format of a ‘divorce certified’ varies from state to state, the contents on the certificate of divorce are the same. In the divorce certified the name of the petitioner and the name of the respondent are mentioned on the first page. The personal details such as occupation, qualification, age, and names of parents are mentioned on the divorce certificate. The reason for filing a petition is mentioned on the certificate. The certificate is signed by the sub-registrar. The divorce certificate also consists of information about legal rights of the petitioner and respondent also. If a person wants to obtain the copy of certificate of divorce, then they normally pay $19 to the court where the petition was filed.

The certificate of divorce is obtained at the court. If the person who is filing the petition is unable to attend and secure the copy, then he or she may request the representative. The person who wants to obtain the certificate of divorce should consider the national holidays and so he can obtain the certificate on other days. A person who wants to obtain the certificate of divorce should send an application and appropriate fees to the court either personally, by e-mail or by fax. If you want to obtain authentication for the certificate of divorce then you can contact the Secretary of State. Usually you can send an application between 8.00 a. m to 4. p. m.
