1. Enjoy your trip to any Latin American country more.
Understand tour guides, ask for directions, take part in real Spanish conversations, order food and drink in Spanish with ease, ask for help whenever you need it, give and accept compliments in Spanish with confidence and grace, patronize local merchants and shop confidently. and much, much more. . .
Not having a communication barrier will make your trip to Latin American countries more enjoyable, meaningful and memorable.
2. Make new friends with people whose primary language is Spanish.
It's easy to make friends and acquaintances whether in a foreign country or at home when there is no communication barrier. Make friends not only in a foreign country but at home too with people whose primary language is Spanish.
People especially foreigners love conversing with people who speak their native language.
3. If seeking employment it will help get the job.
In areas where Spanish is the predominant language or commonly spoken, being able to communicate in the language will be a BIG plus if seeking employment, not to mention job security.
4. Teach others conversational Spanish.
It's fun and satisfying teaching others. You will be looked upon as the expert and it's a great way to be remembered by your students.
5. Amaze others with your talent.
It's amusing to see the amazement on people's faces when they discover that you can speak their language. Many will say in Spanish of course: “Perdon, no supe que habla Espanol" meaning: “Pardon me, I didn't know you spoke Spanish".
