Graduates: Find the Hottest Jobs Now!

The tight job market means that recent graduates are clamoring for jobs more furiously than ever. Some jobs are hotter than others. Those that pay reasonably well and have a relatively high demand for workers are the hottest. Below are some of the fields with the hottest jobs.


Although IT jobs have been hotter, there are still some hot areas of the IT field. Networking and communications still needs skilled workers and pays entry-level workers a reasonable wage. Support personell for help desks and other trouble shooting positions are also in high demand.


Despite the recent banking crises, fiance is still a hot field. Sales and analysis positions alike are in demand. Many financial services companies are actively looking for sales agents.

Sales and marketing

Several industries are looking for sales professionals. Just as financial services companies are looking for sales agents, so too are securities and comodities companies. As with financial services, commission is a large part of the compensation. If you are more analytical, perhaps you would be more interested in market anaylist positions. Market research analysts devise methods and procedures for obtaining marketing data. This is usually accomplished through surveys or interviews. The data they obtain helps companies make strategic marketing decisions.


When attorneys need to file briefs or keep track of files, they rely on paralegals and legal assistants. Although starting salaries are lower than some of the other jobs on this list, positions offer growth and a challenging environment.

Health care

Although there are critical shortages of nurses in many parts of the country, many hospital budgets are undergoing extreme cuts. However, medical assistants, physician assistants, and various technicians are experiencing significant growth in many parts of the country.


Educational, school counselors and vocational provide educational advice to individual students. School counselors also help students of all grade levels to improve their academic career. They work to promote academic, personal, career and emotional development among the young people they serve. Counseling and/or education degrees usually lead to such positions.

Now that you have a better idea of what's out there, choose carefully. Be sure to do more research before jumping right in.
