In the first semi final match of the Cricket World Cup 2011, Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by five wickets on Tuesday, March 29. On Wednesday, March 30 in the second semi final match, India beat Pakistan by 29 runs.

Among the top five wicket takers of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Indian bowling spearhead Zaheer Khan and Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan are in the second and fifth spot with 19 wickets and 15 wickets each in eight matches.
