Johnny Benson must love racing in Milwaukee. In the past three Craftsman Truck Series races at The Milwaukee Mile, the Chevrolet driver has won all three. Benson started the Friday night race on the pole which made him the man to beat. The race had a rain and lightening delay at lap 150. After the re-start Benson pulled to a strong lead with no one seriously challenging for the win.
With his victory, the Michigan native continues his series points lead over fifth place finisher Todd Bodine. The top five finishers in the Camping World RV Sales 200 were Johnny Benson, Matt Crafton, Landon Cassill, Erik Darnell and Todd Bodine.
The only change in the driver series for the top five drivers was Matt Crafton moving ahead of Ron Hornaday. Crafton moved up one position to third in the series with a second place finish. Ron Hornaday slipped to fourth in the series after finishing sixth.
The top five drivers in the series are now Benson, Bodine, Crafton, Hornaday and Rick Crawford. Crawford finished eighth after being penalized earlier in the race for breaking the pit road speed limit during a caution. Crawford was sent to the back of the pack after the re-start hurting his chances for a stronger finish.
Ron Hornaday turned 50 on race day but it was no celebration for him. After slipping two spots and from the top position a week ago, Hornaday lost another position and sits in fourth. The two time series champion, 1998 and 2007, is now sitting 70 points behind series leader Benson.
There are fourteen more races this year with the next race being next Saturday in Memphis at the O'Reilly 200. Look for this to continue to be a battle with the top five drivers in the series racing hard with the other drivers mixing it up for a race win.
