Look for the Silver Lining in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Who would have thought that the decline in the US economy would benefit Mexico? Even though it is a violation of NAFTA for the government to use a protectionist tactic directly, it has allowed the media to take the role by portraying Mexico on the brink of economic collapse and civil war. Yet, hundreds of thousands of Americans have flocked to Mexico since this began, leaving behind millions of dollars, much to the chagrin of the US government.

What the government is not seeing is that the American people are not naïve or stupid and there is already established a strong connection between the US and Mexico after decades of US investment in real estate and millions of retirees residing here. The best thing that has happened to Mexico is the current US administration. What is being termed as the “Largest southern migration to Mexico of people and real estate assets since the Civil War", with a significant percentage of Baby Boomers and young adults doing the research and making the decision to move out of the US or pre-plan for their future retirement.

The reasons cited for choosing Puerto Vallarta were the rich Indian and Spanish culture, lavish beaches and affordable real-estate. Puerto Vallarta offers the low-cost, laid back lifestyle retirees seek to find in a community……. . Life is good in Puerto Vallarta.
