Cancun Real Estate: Orbitz Names Cancun Top Travel Destination

Visitors: 217

Cancun real estate has been named the number one international summer travel destination in the Americas by the Orbitz Travel Index. Located in the Mexican Caribbean along the stunning Riviera Maya, Cancun has been a popular vacation hotspot since the 1970s, attracting visitors from around the world for several decades.

With breathtaking turquoise waters, pristine white sand beaches and a fabulous tropical climate, it is easy to see why Cancun real estate continues to be one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations. London, San Juan and Paris immediately follow Cancun on the list, which was compiled using the Orbitz insider rankings, which are based on the total number of flights that were booked on Orbitz.com between January 1st and December 31st of 2011.

Orbitz stated that it was the “warm climates and adventure activities, ” of Cancun that made it the number one choice for so many international travelers in 2011. Located in the northern portion of the southeastern Mexican state of Quintana Roo, Cancun real estate is also the most popular vacation destination for travelers in all of Mexico.

In addition to Cancun real estate, other top destinations located in Mexico that were named on the Orbitz Insider Index Top Ten List include Mexico City, which came in at an impressive number five, Guadalajara, which came in at a close number seven, and San Jose del Cabo, which was right behind and came in at number eight.

The Mexican government has announced that it is committed to supporting tourism throughout Cancun real estate and the rest of the Riviera Maya, including the nearby cities of Playa del Carmen and Tulum real estate , which will soon receive its very own international airport, slated to begin construction later this year. The city of Cancun has recently completed a $70 million-plus renovation to the waterfront, which involved bringing in around 1.3 billion gallons of sand to the beaches, which make up the internationally acclaimed Hotel Zone of Cancun real estate.

While visiting Cancun, travelers can enjoy the area’s many natural wonders, in addition to the city’s thriving nightlife, ancient Mayan culture, excellent cuisine and affordable modern luxury. So far, 2012 is already looking like it will be a wonderful year for Cancun real estate , which will host the Riviera Maya Food and Wine Festival, as well as a variety of concerts and other exciting events.
