Corporate Moving Announcements and Business Moving Announcements
At some point during the life of your business, you may have the need to relocate. You may need a bigger place, cheaper rent, or some remodeling done that can require you to go elsewhere. These moves can cause a disruption to your normal business but if you send out corporate moving announcements you can lessen these problems. Here are some tips for announcement cards.
Corporate Moving Cards: Good Reasons
Imagine you are a customer who makes the trip to your office or who is trying to contact you for a project. If you've moved, that may not be an easy task for your customer. Lots of businesses believe just placing a business moving announcement in their window or maybe posting new contact information on their web site is sufficient but most clients are going to take it for granted that you'll be in the same place tomorrow that you are today.
When you mail business moving announcements to customers and even vendors, you're letting them know ahead of time to expect the move. That way they'll be a bit more prepared and will know how to reach you at the new location if they need to use your services. While it won't eliminate confusion, it can minimize it drastically.
The other important reason to send out these business announcements is to reduce fear in your customers who are currently working with you on projects. Imagine if you were a wedding planner and suddenly your location was empty and the bride-to-be couldn't find you. Can you imagine her panic and anxiety? While that might be an extreme example, it's not far from what would be the case with almost any customer with whom you are working at this time. By sending out business moving notifications you can prepare them for the move and the change in contact details.
You can also use them as business announcements invitations. Throwing a party to introduce clients and vendors to your new location is a good way to let people know you have moved and to reconnect with customers you haven't worked with in awhile.
Corporate Moving Announcements Basics
Hopefully, you realize why alerting customers ahead of time to your businesses move is critical. The next step is to understand what is involved in these change of address announcements. Generally, it's best to stick with a simple message. It's fine to include your business's slogan, logo, or tag line as well. There's no reason to include a lot of content. Customers don't need or want to know why you moved unless it's for a positive reason that suggests you company is successful. Just make sure you include all of your new contact information and the date on which the move will start. You might also want to add a transitional contact number if your business will be closed for a couple of days during the moving process.
Don't wait until after you've moved to send out these corporate moving announcements either. You want to get these in the mail at least two weeks prior to the move or sooner. Don't forget to send even earlier if you're going to be moving around April 15th (tax time) or any time in December.
