Outdoor activities include boating on Chesapeake Bay, swimming, hiking and such. If saltwater is not your thing consider Deep Creek Lake instead, where you can boat and fish on freshwater instead.

How Rents Compare to the National Average and Nearby States

Rents in Maryland for the month of June, 2011, indicate it is not the cheapest place to live in the region. Of course this is offset with the high median income that most workers enjoy. Rents for two bedroom Maryland Apartments are nearly a third higher here then the national average, running three hundred and eighteen dollars over the median price for this size on a national level. For those needing to live or work near the West Virgina border, living across state lines and traveling to work might be a very viable option, as apartment prices in the nearby state is nearly five hundred dollars cheaper on average.
