Marbella's Lomas del Rey - Alta Vista Spain Top Buy

The European recession has caused many changes in finances all over the western world but none seemed to have suffered as much as property sales. In southern Spain, where properties have been built steadily for the last ten to fifteen years we have seen a drop in prices in most areas. The least affected are coastal areas and sought after locations, such as Lomas del Rey where the phrase location, location, location has been invoked so often that these days it generally induces no more than a wry grimace. However, in the case of Marbella's Lomas del Rey development it is perfectly justified; these five-star properties really do enjoy one of the prime locations on the Costa del Sol.

It is no wonder that the name of this development translates as the hills of the king, as they are generously sized apartments with large terrace areas built to the highest standard, located close to the royal palace and set in beautifully maintained tropical gardens.

Situated on the Golden Mile, Lomas del Rey is near the famous Puente Romano Hotel and just 800 metres from its stylish beach club. The bars, restaurants and clubs of bustling Puerto Bans are a three-minute drive away, while the designer boutiques of Marbella's main street, Ricardo Soriano, are less than five minutes from your front door. There is also easy access to the Autopista del Sol, which offers access to such essentials as Malaga Airport and the massive superstores that border it, with Malaga's lively centre, and its cultural attractions, shops and wonderful tapas bars 20 minutes beyond.

Lomas del Rey itself provides residents with a lifestyle that is second to none; set in more than 25,000m2 of well-maintained landscaped gardens, it has all the amenities and characteristics that make life on the Costa del Sol so desirable. In other words, a privileged, private living environment with landscaped tropical gardens ensconced within the lush greenery of Marbella's finest address, but also: fabulous views of the Mediterranean, large swimming pools, 24-hour security surveillance, a full maintenance service and beautiful architectural detailing.

The properties consist of two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, designed by one of Spain's top developers and resultantly finished to demanding standards. These homes are therefore extremely spacious even by the standards of top quality Marbella real estate, says Michael Liggan of Alta Vista Spain . Every apartment or penthouse contains three or four bathrooms clad with exquisite Mediterranean tiling, marble fittings and the finest quality hydro-massage bathtubs. The penthouse apartments have an additional attraction in the shape of a private fitted spa on the terrace, so that you can enjoy the sun set over the Straits of Gibraltar from the comfort and privacy of your al fresco tub.

Naturally you can take such luxuries as under-floor heating in every room, Daikin climate control systems, a garage, storage room and two to three car parking spaces per property for granted, while the penthouse apartments also include a private roof.

Though stylish and thorough in their range of comforts and luxuries, these would not be proper Marbella properties if they werent also geared for outdoor living, says Michael in a reference to the areas famed climate. The private terraces are vast and encourage residents to enjoy the best of the Costa del Sol weather, which allows outdoor living and dining throughout most of the year. During the heat of the day, pergolas offer shade from the sun and are the perfect place from which to enjoy views that include both Marbella's La Concha mountain and the Med.

The current condition of the international property market means that there hasn't been such a good time to secure a luxurious home on the Golden Mile, Marbella in years.
