Off-Street Parking - How Important is it to Home Buyers?

Visitors: 199

The last thing anyone wants to do after a hard day at work is to drive around the neighbourhood looking for a place to park. Adding a garage, driveway, or other parking area to your home property is a sensible idea and a worthy investment. There are several reasons for either building or purchasing a property with off street parking:

The parking area can add value to your home

As a matter of fact, the value such a space adds to your home can outweigh the cost of building the space. Studies have shown that one of the top ten features buyers look for when purchasing a property is a garage or off-street parking. This feature can make or break a sale. Therefore, if you do not have off-street parking at your home consider adding a garage or driveway.

Your car is protected from damage

Many cars can get damaged parking on the side of the street. Cars coming down the street misjudge the distance and can take off your side view mirror or swipe your car causing major damage. Parking your car off-street can prevent vandals from smashing your car window to steal your radio or prevent your car from getting keyed or the tires from getting stolen.

By having parking on your property you can prevent car theft

A car parked in the garage does not provide a temptation to car thieves. Even pulling your car into a driveway or parking pad will make it less noticeable to car thieves. And a car thief has more risk going onto your property to steal your car versus taking an auto right off the street. There is less of a chance of being noticed.

Being able to park your car on your property and off the street might decrease your car insurance

Many auto insurance companies have special rates and plans for customers who can park their cars in garages or their driveways at night as opposed to parking on the street. Check with your auto insurance company for any incentives for off-street parking. You might be able to save a bundle on your insurance rates.

Having your own personal parking space in front of your home is a major convenience

By having an off-street parking space you will no longer have to drive around the neighbourhood looking for a space to park. In addition, it is much easier to unload items from your car such as grocery bags, or luggage from a long trip. You will not have to double park outside your home, unload the items, and then go find a parking space. You can simply pull into your driveway or garage and unload your car.

If own an off-street garage or parking space in Manchester , Leeds, London or anywhere else in the UK you can earn money through renting it out. Spaces near major events, such as Wembley Stadium parking , are also in very high demand.
