Cancun Real Estate – Your Neighborhood Options for Condos

Cancun real estate is one of North America's favorites for condos in Mexico, the Caribbean and well beyond. While the classic beachfront Cancun condo in the Hotel Zone is the classic, the city actually offers a handful of other great choices. These are, very generally, the areas a buyer could consider.

The Hotel Zone. This is the original classic - a condo overlooking one of the world's favorite beaches, with its soft, white sand and the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Apart from the fabulous beaches, residents also enjoy close access to the shopping, dining and nightlife of the hotel zone. There are large malls, restaurants ranging from American fast food to oriental gourmet, and many bars and clubs for which Cancun has become famous. Wide access roads make it easy and fast to get around; residents enjoy the best of modern life, in a beautiful contemporary condo. Prices start around $80,000 USD, and go up from there.

Puerto Cancun. This new gated marina community located right where north end of the Hotel Zone meets downtown offers buyers life in a well designed and organized upscale community. Many luxury Cancun condos are available, with units starting around $200,000 USD. In addition to the marina, Puerto Cancun includes restaurants and some shops. It is also a very short drive from either the activity of the Hotel Zone or downtown.

Puerto Juarez. Puerto Juarez and the surrounding area are just northwest of Puerto Cancun along the beachfront. Condos can be found for slightly lower prices, starting around $150,000 USD. The quality can be similar, and the price is a trade off for not being within the gated community. The area has access to many of the same conveniences. Splendid views are also available.

Downtown. While the “city" itself is overlooked by many buyers, there are also excellent options for beautiful condos in this area. The downtown core is very nicely planned with palm-lined boulevards and picturesque traffic circles. There are a number of large malls, many shopping options and services, and countless restaurants. The beach is only a short drive away.

If you are considering buying in Cancun, find an experienced and reliable agent who can introduce you to the different types of possibilities available.
