Puppy Training Most Common Mistakes

Honesty is the best policy. This is an age-old adage but has never lost its essence. To be precise, it is applicable in every age and each aspect. Now what has made me refer this? The reason is the subject of the present article. At several times it is found that the dog owners or better to say the puppy owners are highly adept in self-deception. They are found to bring puppies in their homes but don't know anything of training. But when they are asked they pretend to know all. It is found that their puppies become most unruly.

These self-deceptions are the basis of all problems and also one of the greatest mistakes. Well, apart from this there are also scores of other mistakes that are repeated by owners frequently. While some of them are repeated too often, others are repeated seldom. There is nothing to worry since these are common. But you must learn to check these otherwise the mistakes may lead to more intense problems. They may happen in spite of your best intentions to train your puppy.

The first of these happen to be the negative physical contacts. They may be in the form of striking, spanking or any other. These are nothing but infractions that mar the gradual development and are also highly ineffective, futile and dastardly acts of cruelty. There are in fact many who try to train their dogs through these. But they don't understand that any attempt to train in this way produce negative effects. This makes the dog fear you and that crushes the basis of a healthy coordination between the two. The continuation of this attitude of yours can result into the development of a horde of behavioral issues within it. It may lash out in self-defense, pee-pee if you try to move toward and evade mingling with others.

Only if the dog attacks you or any other person or animal, it should be handled in a strong way. It can be admonished and also be punished physically. This is a part of the defensive measure but can educate your dog to behave properly.

Another mistake is to repeat the same command again and again. This is not cruel but totally fruitless. Often it is found that a dog, due to bad temperament or being unwell, does not heed the commands of the master. But the owner goes on continuing the same demand over and over again. He/she seems to forget that the dog, who didn't respond to the first call, will repeat the same thing in10th, 20th, or 100th time. You may get frustrated in the same situation and as a result may give it a good spanking. This will aggravate the situation and your pet may consider you henceforth as his own enemy. To avoid this unhappy development you shall have to stop yelling and consider of other measures to solve the problem.

The dog owners try to remain as leaders always. Its necessary but there should also be an affectionate relationship between the two. Many fail in this. It's highly downbeat.

Save yourself a lot of time as a dog owner and train your dog to be obedient. It gets so much easier for both you and your dog when you have trained your dog´s obedience. Click here to learn more about training your dog.
