Terrorist Doctors, Hard to Believe

And here I always felt so ‘not worthy’ when speaking to medical doctors. Qualified doctors are perceived to be the elite, the top strata of intelligence, the level that the ordinary folk like you and I, cannot even aspire to. They even get to have a title in perpetuity.

We are non-starters never mind participants when it comes to the medical profession and being a doctor. We don’t stand a chance. The universities would laugh at us if we dared to apply.

Guess what. That opinion has kind of taken a knock. Firstly, this bunch of doctors who have just been apprehended, caught in the act so to speak, for the bomb attacks in the UK could possibly not be worse terrorists. They got the whole bomb story wrong. They couldn’t get the mobile phones to detonate the car bombs in London.

They messed up the drive into the Glasgow airport, not even managing to ram the vehicle into the airport itself. And they left enough evidence behind to convict them a few times over. Never mind the fact that they weren’t really prepared to blow themselves up with the bombs. Where is the commitment here?

These are representatives of a profession that we ordinary folk have always looked up to as being superior to us. These were supposed to be beyond intelligent beings. And yet three or so of them are sitting in prison within a few days of their attempted attack.

One always somehow could understand the foot soldier, the uneducated and unwashed, who volunteered for the suicide watch. They had no future, nothing to live for and they had not enough brain power to be able to withstand the brain washing of the evil leaders. Now we see medical doctors, the creme de la creme of intelligence, trying their hand at mass murder.

Alone the concept of a doctor subscribing to mass murder tends to be quite shocking. Whatever happened to the hippocratic oath? Lets just look at one line of the original Greek oath according to Wikipedia and I am hoping my faithful source of knowledge is correct here: To please no one will I prescribe a deadly drug nor give advice which may cause his death.

The modern version now states as number 4. Never to do deliberate harm to anyone for anyone else’s interest. That’s heavy. Are we to ever again trust those people flapping their white coats behind them as they play angels in the hospital wings?

Here we have been trusting doctors all our lives. We even trust them with our lives. Can you hear the line? Sorry me dear can’t attend to your pain right now, need to go and blow up an airport cause this is a good time as the place will be teeming with people leaving on their summer holidays.

I would imagine there are going to be a whole bunch of people who are going to look at doctors with great suspicion from now on. And regrettably it will again be the stereotype bearded, middle east looking person who is going to get the blast of the prejudice hitting him. Never mind the middle east woman with her hair and face covering whose face one can’t check for reassurances.

Always a small group of people will sour our lives for us, and make us look at different people, of ethnic origin and religious persuasion, with fear. Now we can add doctors to this collection of bogey monsters. Are we ever going to feel safe again?
