It is not a trend really it is an awakening after recent phenomena of climate change that is affecting the whole World. If are developing a lifestyle where in the consumption pattern is fast depleting our Earthly resources consuming our green lungs that is the forests. Affecting our climate and the environment than a wise move is to go green and develop a consumption pattern that is environmentally friendly.

Like all industry stationery consumption too affects the environment negatively hence a more responsible practices has to be put in place. The recent trends are exhibition of our concern in the contemporary era. Besides innovative and thought proving design there should be an effort to manage our resources soundly.

Paper consumption in the stationery industry is the highest with disastrous consequences on our forests especially the bamboo forests. Using products like fallen leaves of broadleaved plants like the flame of the forest tree in India is a responsible step. The leaves found in wild abundance are eco-friendly alternative to paper cups and glasses, they can also be shaped into plates using machinery. Albeit they have not been used to make writing paper with little efforts they can act as alternative. This will result in reducing the consumption of regular paper and thus save the trees growing wild. The flame of the forest or palas tree is a fast growing sturdy tree which can be planted on eroded and denuded lands. This tree grows wild and is widely distributed and hence its deployment will save our fragile ecosystems since the greatest damage is done by extracting bamboo for the paper industry.

Gift wraps and envelopes are being made from recycled paper then why not from the paper made from the leaves of this tree all it needs is the efforts in the right direction. In fact stationery manufacturers with sustainable values that adopt this resource saving approach would be winners in a market which fast becoming conscious of sustainable usage of our dwindling resources.

The palas tree is unknown to the vast industrial world and farmer citizens. Its usage will be a boon for our environment and for our fast dwindling green lungs as well. All the large scale stationery manufacturers should consider alternative raw materials. Palas is one such example there could be many floral elements tucked away in the labyrinth of our green World.
