Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Mark 1:9-18 (Amplified Bible)

9In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10And when He came up out of the water, at once he [John] saw the heavens torn open and the [Holy] Spirit like a dove coming down [to enter] ]into Him.

11And there came a voice out from within heaven, You are My Beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.

12Immediately the [Holy] Spirit [from within] drove Him out into the wilderness (desert),

13And He stayed in the wilderness (desert) forty days, being tempted [all the while] by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him [continually].

14Now after John was arrested and put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God,

15And saying, The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled (completed), and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ( have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to) the good news (the Gospel).

16And passing along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon [Peter] and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net [to and fro] in the sea, for they were fishermen.

17And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and ]be My disciples, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18And at once they left their nets and [[yielding up all claim to them] followed [with] Him [joining Him as disciples and siding with His party].

9In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

Jesus the anointed Son of God went into the water dying to his family role, dying to his family brothers, sisters and mother, dying to his reputation as a good Jew, dying to his righteousness under the law and rose from the water a new man set apart for full time service for His Father.

Have you died to your mother, father, sisters, brothers, friends, church, and religious beliefs for Jesus and His gospel? Jesus said if you will not forsake everything for Him you are not worthy of Him and in the coming days on earth you will have had to forsake everything that is hindering you.

10And when He came up out of the water, at once he [John] saw the heavens torn open and the [Holy] Spirit like a dove coming down [to enter] ]into Him.

Is the Holy Spirit resting on you? Is it evident in your life, do you have the anointing and that peaceable spirit within you abounding in compassion and mercy? Is the Holy Spirit resting on you like a dove? Do you have a sinless and pure life or is the Holy Spirit grieved every day at something that you do or say?

11And there came a voice out from within heaven, You are My Beloved Son; in You I am well pleased. Would God say that of you? Is he well pleased with you? Would he speak direct to you and tell you that He was well pleased. Jesus had not even begun His public ministry and the Father was boasting out of heaven how pleased He was of Jesus.

I have waited many years to preach and now on this ezene article web-site I have been given the opportunity. Three times I have spoken in a church and twice sang a solo that was like a sermon in its witness. Jesus had waited patiently for 30 years for this day and this is what His Father was pleased about.

To please the Father you need your money, time and resources to be saving people from hell. If you haven’t got the talent to write a tract, find some that you really love and put 10,000 of them out in your community. Some of my five page articles are very good for this and it only comes down to how much money you are prepared to spend.

Is your friend worth a $1000. Is a person you know at work worth saving? Hunt through my articles and find one that would interest them and print it off. Why contact me and I will print it off and sign it and address it to them.

Are you doing all you can do to please the Father? Are you giving 10% of your money in tithe to your church, are you giving to the poor third world church, are you praying for your world to be changed, are you changing your world with your love?

12Immediately the [Holy] Spirit [from within] drove Him out into the wilderness (desert),

Have you been tested? Do you allow the Holy Spirit to drive you to dry places to be tested? How did you endure the onslaught from Satan? Did you grow stronger from the experience? Are you still in the desert? Does the Word of God have no meaning for you? Do you find it dry and lacking power? Do you read the Word and it puts you to sleep? Is the Bible the last book that you pick up? Do you prefer other man’s books?

Do you read the Word every single day? Do you spend half an hour in prayer with the Father each day? Do you know how to pray? Do your prayers get answered or are they falling on deaf ears it seems? The Holy Spirit has you in the wilderness, and if He has it’s time for you to get the Living Water into you and get the power of God into you and start to fast and pray and get the anointing and power to do mighty things. God doesn’t need your money; you need to give it to Him so that you might have more faith in Him then mammon.

Jesus went forty days and nights without food and water, and can you do that and live? Well many of you are doing it all the time spiritually. The water is the Holy Spirit’s voice and anointing that you can only get through inviting Him to fill you each day and your manna, or daily bread is the Word of God that the Holy Spirit will show you and teach you each day, and yet most of you deny yourself the only food and water that you should be having.

Jesus said, don’t labour for food that perishes, but labour for the food that leads to everlasting life. You need to put time on your knees and time in the Word and make your actual money and working life sponsor the Kingdom of God being built.

15And saying, The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled (completed), and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ( have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to) the good news (the Gospel.

Forty days is a very special time of preparation. Even in the West the 40th birthday is revered. Well Jesus was thirty years of age at this time, but was tested 40 days. Jesus was wise beyond His years and He only reigned three and a half years, the same time the two witnesses will have power. But it came after 40 days of no bread and no water and all Jesus had was spiritual food out there.

Moses was forty when he left Egypt and was prepared in the desert as a shepherd for forty years before he set the captives free. David reigned in Israel for 40 years; the waters of the great flood came down for forty days and forty nights.

I can bet you if you take forty days aside and pray for at least half an hour, then read the Word of God for at least an hour and deny yourself one meal a day for those forty days you will be a different person and would have started a habit that will make your life a whole lot more meaningful.

repent ( have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better)

For all of these sins in your life you need to repent for:

2 Timothy 3 (New King James Version)

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For a full four part sermon series on this passage go to my home page at the article source link at the bottom of this article and read it. You are guilty of many of these sins and you have to make an agreement with God that you will never do them again.

For the Kingdom of God is at hand and the Bride needs to be preparing herself for the wedding chamber and ridding herself of the excesses and the dirty ways of the world. You have to come out of the world and start to invest your time and all of your resources into the Kingdom of God.

You HAVE TO have a change of mind and get serious with God. The time is running short and grace is just about run out on earth as the Book of Revelation and the great tribulation is already upon us.

Few people can read the signs, few people know 2007 has a major shift in it, few people know that the Lord is angry and ready to judge and sift the chaff from the true wheat. The time for the harvest of the wicked and the harvest of the righteous is upon us and you have to be in right standing with God.

It’s away with the books and tapes and DVDs and all the Christian teaching and its hours a day in the Word of God with the Holy Spirit teaching you. It’s hours in prayer and fasting and obedience to what the Word of God says and it’s away with the money spending on pleasure and its getting much of your money and sending it to Bibles in China for $6.00 each. The Lord is not going to come back until the 1.2 Billion Chinese have heard the gospel yet His fury is going to be judging the West until they help with the 60 million Bible shortfall.

There are two harvests just about to start in the world and if you know what the right thing is to do and you don’t do it, you are not righteous but considered by the Lord wicked and a person of lawlessness. So you need to repent from your manifold sins and be holy.

17And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and ]be My disciples, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Every one of you is called to be a fisher of men. Every one of you has the ability to get $500 and put ten thousand tracts out in your community. Every one of you has the ability to send this teaching to all your friends and family. Every one of you has the ability of printing this out and giving a copy to every person in your church.

Jesus wants the world saved. He wants action. He wants you not to be lazy or scared, or afraid but willing to invest money and lose friends and do what it takes to do your best job. He wants you to use your abilities to bring the Kingdom of God to earth and he wants you to do it now. If you have any questions on how you could help Jesus, just write to me and I’ll give you advice and counsel from the Lord.

Come on guys; get serious and stop playing church. Light your lamps and get ready and pure for the groom, for the groom is on his way!
