If you've got kids, you likely know how much they love to dress up. And most kids have a favorite character that they like to become. My 7 year old girl just loves dressing up. She'll be anyone from a witch to a princess to a superhero. Every day is different. Her latest obsession is a Blues Clues costume her grandmother gave her last Halloween.
Does Blues Clues sound like it's up your kids’ alley, or would they be more interested in something a little scarier? I have to admit, the Blues Clues outfit was a big hit around the neighborhood last Halloween. After all, who can resist a cute girl asking for candy?
It's something to keep in mind when your kids are choosing their costume - people are pushovers for cute and cuddly. The spooky and scary stuff just doesn't get the same reaction. Cute sells - my daughter got twice the candy my son got dressed as Dracula.
It a tough decision to make, however your kids want to dress. There are the old standbys like a vampire, werewolf or witch. There are plenty of cute and cuddly cartoon characters for kids to choose from. There are almost an unlimited number of superheroes - just look at the comic rack at any bookstore.
If you're just not sure and looking for inspiration, there's no better place than the internet. There are plenty of websites that sell costumes, with hundreds of ideas you can use, even if you end up making your own outfit.
Best of all, they've all got picture of all the costumes, so you can see exactly what it'll look like when it's all put together. I'd say that's a heck of a lot easier than trying to imagine what something would look like when it's hanging on a rack at the store, or worse packaged up in a box.
With a little searching on the internet, you'll find your costume inspiration in no time!
