Whatever your website business model, you need to start off with at least 20 original pages. Whether you're offering a physical product, a service or an information product, one of the essential parts of ensuring the success of a website is to keep it fresh. Search engines rate websites that are continually updated extremely highly.

Physical products

If your ultimate objective is to sell a product, you need to talk about the latest products in your field. Review products. Publish discussions that you've had about products. Talk about the history of your products. Talk about the future of your products. Try to be impartial and encourage a serious debate.

Services & Information products

It's incredibly important to be considered a specialist in your field when providing a service or information product. If you're not, you'll never maintain the repeat traffic necessary to ensure long-term online success. When writing your content, consider your present skills and knowledge. What are you particularly good at? Again, write at least 20 articles or product reviews - each around 300 words, each going some way to proving your industry credibility. Each article should have a theme and a title that appeals to the reader.

Allow interaction

You should allow your readers to comment on your content. ‘Web logs’ - or ‘Blogs’ as they are now more commonly known - are online diaries that are particularly friendly for search engines. Put simply, they are articles or product reviews where readers can add a comments. Because of the ever-changing content, search engines consider that the page must be more important than a page that remains static and doesn't change. There are some websites such as Blog Template Designs and Auto Blog Builder that offer niche products which can help you get your blog up and running quickly.
