Have you ever visited a MySpace page where music started playing automatically? It's a cool effect that lots of MySpace users add to their pages. If you've ever wanted to do the same on your own page, read on. We're going to take a look at how to add MySpace background music to your profile.
Your first option is to select MySpace background music directly from the web site. Go to the “Music" link at the top of your profile and do a search for the song or artist you want. When you find the music you were looking for, simply click “Add". The music will play when someone visits your page.
If you want to use your own music, decide which format you want to use. The most popular music formats are MP3, WMA, WAV, and MIDI. MP3s and WMAs tend to give the best musical quality for the amount of space they take up. WAVs have a good sound, but they can also be large files - and you don't want to keep your friends waiting while your music loads. MIDIs are the smallest of the audio files, but their sound quality isn't as good.
Once you've picked a format for your MySpace background music, you'll need to find a music file that you can link to, or upload your own to an Internet server. Then you'll add some HTML code to your MySpace profile. This code will make your chosen song play whenever someone visits your page.
There are dozens of sites that offer music. Once you've selected a song, add this line of code to your profile's “About Me" section:
Just replace “song_URL" with the actual location of your music file. If you want the music to play over and over, leave the loop option set to “true". Setting it to “false" will make the song play only once.
Now your profile has a new feature: MySpace background music. Check out your friends’ pages, too. They might have some good music that you'd like to add to your own profile someday.
