Product Creation - How To Find Out If Your Product Will Sell Before It Goes Live

Oftentimes when we want to create a new product, we are in often in two minds as to whether to start actually creating it. Somewhere in the deep recesses of our mind, is the fear of failure! That somehow your product will be a complete flop.

How do some companies get their products to be bestsellers time and time again? An example of one such company is Apple. Their range of iPods and Sony Vaios, among many other quality products, are often snapped up in droves by eager buyers.

Your product doesn't have to be a failure. You can create products which sell well, I'll show you how.

You'd need to do some hardcore spying on your market.

Here's some places you can go to:

Bookstores

Amazon (the online bookstore)

Ebay

Magazines.com

Look for what products are selling well. Ask yourself: which market segment are these products selling to? Work at home moms? Busy executives?

What needs do these products fulfill? Money, hobbies, romance?

Then see how ‘niche-fied’ the product is. Meaning, is the product a product that covers a big niche, or a niche within a niche? For example, Time Management is a wider market than Time Management For New Moms. However, the latter topic might sell better since it's a more targeted product.

Once you have decided all this, create your own product to complement a current hot selling product! Make the topic related to it. For example, let's say our fictional product ‘Time Management For New Moms’ is selling well, you can create an ebook called ‘Time Management For Busy Students’ and it's almost guaranteed to sell like hot cakes!
