Accomplishing effective pay per click ad campaign

Visitors: 239

In this entry I will write about several of the general things, that are needed for creating more effective PPC ad. By more effective I mean an ad which brings more sales for your website or blog with smaller amount of cash spent.

Just click here . . .

The goal click here is a within each internet ad. Even so, we must not make it into the central aim of the ad, especially when we are talking about Pay Per Click advertising. If we are talking about other types of internet advertising it is not so bad to aim for as many as possible clicks on the ad, because you've paid for a concrete amount of pageviews or time. But when we are speaking about Pay Per Click, the price is for every click, thus you do not need unnecessary clicks/visits.

Well then, which clicks are the unnecessary ones?

We may say that all clicks are made by people, that aren't going to complete the desired from you task (for example a subscription, a sale, looking around your site or weblog) are unnecessary.

Why are some clicks unnecessary?

Getting the appropriate clicks is vital for making an effective PPC ad campaign. If you don't attract the correct visitors your ad is going to be a waste. On the other hand you just attract all the visitors, you are going to achieve your goal, but you will spend much more money.

How do we get the right clicks?

  • Advertise in web sites with visitors that are your potential clients.
  • Make use of the ad text to describe what precisely you expect the visitor to do, after he clicks on your ad. This way, the people that aren't going to do it, will not click on the ad. If you give too short information, many users will click only because they need to know more.

Here are more useful tips for achieving effective PPC ads

  • Get a good landing page. This is the page that visitors see after they click on your PPC ad. The landing page should drive your visitors to the goal and also to contain the things users are expecting to see. For instance it is incorrect to advertise a given product, and the landing page to be your index page. This way most of the visitors to your web site will take off soon after they arrive because they have to go through your web site to see the product you advertised in your ad.
  • Take the time to make good ad description. It is always a good idea for the ad description to include a call to action. Another good tip is to use strong words and to clear the avoidable words.
