An online business with good list can earn five to ten times as much money over time as a business without a list. For that reason, it is important to build a large list and take care of it. But how do that?
First of all, take a page out of Google's book. Their motto is ‘Do no Harm. ’ Develop that same attitude regarding your list. Never recommend a so-so product just because it pays a huge commission and you need the money. Take care of your list and the money will take care of itself.
Build a good relationship with your subscribers. Send out emails often asking them how you can help them. And when they reply to your emails asking for help, do everything that you can to assist them. Make sure that you answer their emails promptly. Don't put it off for two or three days while you do ‘more important stuff. ’ Actually, your list is the most important asset you own.
Send them plenty of free ebooks, reports, and information to help them with their business (or interests). I make an effort to make sure subscribers get at least one freebie each week. And always state that you are giving them something free in your subject line. This ensures that they will be anxious to open your emails.
Don't bombard them with offers or emails on a daily basis. Send them freebies and offers two or three times a week. When emails come every day and almost all of them are sales pitches, people will be more inclined to unsubscribe. You worked hard to get them onto your list, don't alienate them by making pitches too frequently.
Without a doubt, your list is the most valuable asset you own. So treat it with care. Take care of your list and your list will take care of you.
