Building And Managing A Large And Profitable Opt In List

Building and managing an opt in list is one of the most important aspects of your online business. It can increase your income over time by as much as 30%. But how do you develop a good list?

Most lists are created by using a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a page on your site that is devoted to getting people to subscribe to your list. To maximize subscriptions, you should offer some sort of free give-away to those who sign up. A free ebook or report that is related to subject (or niche) of your site has proven to be a very good incentive.

The use of an autoresponder is ideal for this purpose. Most autoresponder companies will provide you with the code to place on your squeeze page that displays a box where your subscribers can enter their name and email address. After people sign up, you can set it up so that your autoresponder sends out your free offer. The entire process can be set up to operate automatically, with little or no effort on your part.

Once you've set up the process to begin building your list, you have to manage it. Send subscribers plenty of free items to keep them interested and eager to open the emails that you send them. On a regular basis, you can send them emails recommending the products and services that you are promoting. You don't want to do this every day, but most people don't mind seeing these types of solicitations once a week or so.

Make sure that the products you are recommending are of high quality. There is no quicker way to destroy a list that to promote scams or crappy products. All you have is your reputation. If your subscribers think highly of you they will remain on your list and buy your products on a regular basis.

By taking care of your list, sending them related and relevant free gifts, offering them good high quality products, and taking care of their needs, you will continue to build a large list that will pay you big dividends far into the future.
