One of the most common questions that readers ask is “How do you actually make money on the internet?"
This question surface almost every where on the internet and while most have been answered by other marketers or bloggers, I will tell you honestly how can you make good money on the internet and I am not talking about $1 or $10 kind of money (if you get what I mean)
Then followed by “what are the best kinds of products to sell online?"
and sometimes. . . "which is best. . . selling products directly or promoting other people's products as an affiliate?"
From my own experience, the answer to the question above is always “selling your own digital info products" because of a number of factors.
I will just list two of them and hope you can get a better idea from this.
1) - Low entry point (they cost little to create)
2) High demand (with the right product you can sell hundreds or even thousands of products very quickly)
But there really is a ‘downside’ - Far too many marketers make mistakes when it comes to actually creating their own products - And a poor performer can really bomb you out, especially if you've spent a lot of time and energy creating it. It is suppose to be easy and shouldn't be taking too much of your time.
As for question 3, it gets a little bit trickier. . .
Promoting affiliate products seems like the easiest option for many - If you're good at it you can make incredible sums of money.
But best selling products bring out many other marketers intent on selling it too on the internet and the competition can be fierce. . .
That usually leads to expenses most people don't calculate when they first decide to promote other people's products. Things like advertisement cost and time taken to promote the product are often overlooked.
And the thing is - creating YOUR OWN products doesn't necessarily need to take up any more time than it does to effectively promote someone else. What difference does it make - if you get my point here.
Of course there are many ‘gurus’ who"ll tell you it's easiest and ‘best’ to start off with affiliate products (usually followed by a link to their affiliate program and of course that's often their intentional tactic!)
But just promoting affiliate programs or even buying and selling the ‘rights’ to other people's products has another disadvantage and again often overlooked by most people.
While you're promoting someone else or selling someone else's product you are not effectively building your own “brand". It becomes hard, if not impossible, to set yourself apart from the thousands of other affiliates and the thousands of other resellers out there. Read on the importance of branding here.
Having a ‘voice’ really does count and only your own products can help you do that properly.
That's why I guarantee if you search around you'll see that almost every well known marketer on the planet has their own product and why is that so?
That is because they know how important it is to build their brand and to differentiate themselves from the rest.
